Jennings becomes the second 49ers draft pick signed after fifth-round selection Colton McKivitz, an offensive lineman, signed his contract on June 19. That leaves defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, and tight end Charlie Woerner as the team's only unsigned draft picks.
Jennings caught 146 passes for 2,153 yards with 18 touchdowns in five seasons with the Volunteers, including a 59-catch, 969-yard, eight-touchdowns senior year in 2019. He also had 13 rushing attempts for 51 yards and a rushing touchdown last year.
Jennings was asked in April about his physical style of play in college.
"Definitely going to bring that physicality to every game," he responded. "That's always been a part of me. That's not just in the blocking game, because I do love to block, but it's also when it comes to me catching the ball. I'm a great receiver after the catch, and I take pride in that. I believe in myself to be able to do that at a high level."
Thanks to the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which was ratified in March and extends through the 2030 season, all rookie contracts are for a length of four years. First-round selections come with a team-executable fifth-year option, which does not apply to Jennings.
The total value of Jennings' four-year contract is believed to be $3,406,024, or very close to that amount, according to OverTheCap.com. That includes a signing bonus of $111,024 and a 2020 salary-cap figure of $637,756.
