San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman engaged in discussion with Kevin Hart during the comedian's Cold As Balls: Cold Calls segment on LOL Network.

During the conversation, the topic of prejudice came up and how Sherman doesn't necessarily appreciate being described as "well-spoken."


"It's also the 'well-spoken' conversation," Sherman told Hart. "'Hey, they're so well-spoken.' I can use the same vernacular, same vocabulary as the guy right next to me who doesn't have pigment in his skin, but you don't call him 'well-spoken' because that's the expectation is that he's going to speak the words well."

Hart asked Sherman about his relationship with former 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree. The two would go head-to-head during Sherman's time with the Seattle Seahawks and don't seem like the best of friends.

"You know, it's a complicated, convoluted, a lot of moving parts to the situation that; you know, up and down, around, and over there," Sherman jokingly explained. "You know, one of those situations where you just let it be everywhere but nowhere, and I ain't never there."


Hart suggested the two exchange jerseys the next time the two play each other. Who knows when or if that will happen again, though. Crabtree signed a one-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals last year and played in just two games before being released in September.

Sherman was also asked if he feels like he has more amazing NFL years in front of him "on this side" of his career.

"One hundred percent," Sherman responded. "The game, as I've gotten older, has gotten easier. So many people come in here with all this high praise. ... But that doesn't always translate to great football play. The game is played above the shoulders."

Sherman last year had one of his best NFL seasons. He owns Pro Football Focus' highest coverage grade (90.5) and highest overall grade (90.3) from last season, including the playoffs.

Sherman is entering the final year of the three-year deal he signed with San Francisco in 2018.
