One of the many players who is working hard this offseason to make sure he is in shape and ready to contribute in a big way is fourth-year receiver Kendrick Bourne.
Bourne likes the 49ers' chances for the 2020 season and not only guarantees his squad will be in Florida on February 7, 2021, for Super Bowl LV, but promises a win in the big game for a fanbase that hasn't enjoyed one in 25 years.
The 24-year-old receiver signed a one-year tender with the 49ers in April.
Bourne is part of a receiver group that lost veteran Emmanuel Sanders this offseason but added rookie Brandon Aiyuk via the draft. Oh, and there's still Deebo Samuel, the second-year player who had an impressive rookie campaign last season.
San Francisco also hopes Jalen Hurd and Trent Taylor, who each missed all of last season due to injury, can return and contribute. General manager John Lynch recently said the 49ers hadn't lost faith in Dante Pettis, a second-round pick from two years ago.
Bourne, who was signed in 2017 as an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Washington, hauled in 30 receptions for 358 yards with a career-high five touchdowns through 16 games in 2019. Twenty-three of those 30 catches resulted in either a first down or a score.
Bourne also caught six receptions for 88 yards and a score in the playoffs, including two catches for 42 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV. Five of those six catches went for either a first down or a touchdown.
