"His no-nonsense passion for the game amplifies his special physical abilities, while also setting a tone for our defense. This extension allows Jimmie to continue to grow in our defense and we look forward to seeing where he can take his game."

San Francisco also officially announced the signing of linebacker Joe Walker to a one-year deal and that tight end Ross Dwelley has signed his one-year tender to remain with the team. News of Walker joining the 49ers was first reported on Monday by Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, and Dwelley was among the players tendered one-year deals on March 5.

Dwelley, 25, is entering his third NFL season. The 49ers signed him as an undrafted free agent out of San Diego in 2018.
Dwelley registered 15 receptions for 91 yards with two touchdowns through 16 games and six starts with the 49ers in 2019. He has caught 17 passes for 105 yards with two touchdowns in his two NFL seasons.
