Hyder, 28, is a versatile player capable of playing multiple positions along the defensive front. He spent four seasons (2015-18) with the Detroit Lions. He had a career-high eight sacks in 2016 while working with defensive line coach Kris Kocurek, now with the 49ers.
Hyder missed the entire 2017 season after suffering a torn Achilles during the preseason.
The New York Jets signed Hyder as an undrafted free agent out of Texas Tech in 2014. He signed with the Dallas Cowboys on March 18, 2019, and then went on to register 17 tackles and a sack through 16 games (no starts) this past season.
Hyder has recorded 59 tackles, 10 sacks, and a pass defensed through his four (now counting 2017) NFL seasons.
