Eisen responded to our query with the following.
Last year, Eisen was clocked at six seconds flat, so everyone was anxious to see if he could beat that time. Niner fans wanted to see if Kittle would make a surprise appearance.
Both happened. Although, Kittle didn't actually run.
Eisen had a 40-time of 5.98 seconds, and Kittle was there to introduce Eisen and offered motivation.
To increase the intensity, Kittle also introduced a 49ers legend, Jerry Rice, who came out to offer up some suggestions to Eisen to quicken his pace.
After the run, Kittle surprised Eisen with a $10,000 donation from himself and his wife, Claire, which brings the total donations from this year to over $810,000.
"It's my first big check," Kittle told Eisen, "so I wanted to do it for you."
