"The only thing, I wish I was on the team," Gore told KNBR's Greg Papa and John Lund on Thursday. "But I'm happy that my team is here. I been there a whole decade. Like I said, I'm pulling for Jed (York) and his family.
"And it will be Jed's first time winning the Super Bowl as the owner, and I'll be so happy for him because I know how much he loves his team."
Another person Gore will be pulling for is veteran tackle Joe Staley. The two spent eight seasons together — Staley's first eight in the NFL. The two lost a Super Bowl together, and Gore wants to see his former teammate and friend finally win one in his 13th NFL season.
"I would be so happy for him," Gore said. "He deserves it. Joe, I think he's a Hall-of-Fame tackle. I know what he brings to the game of football. I played with him for almost my whole (49ers) career. A great person.
"All the guys who I played with, who came in and played with (me) the majority of my career, I look at them like a brother. I would love to see him get this ring this Sunday."
Gore has played 15 seasons in the NFL and hopes to play at least one more year. He ranks at No. 3 in the all-time rushing list behind just Emmitt Smith and Walter Payton.
