The fifth-year running back rushed for 220 yards on 29 carries and found the end zone four times in the 37-20 victory over the Packers. It set a single-game playoff record for the franchise and ranks second all-time to Eric Dickerson's 248 rushing yards in an NFL playoff game.
"Eric Dickerson is the ultimate running back," Mostert said after the game. "He's a guy I look up to, even all the other running backs, even with Frank Gore, to even be mentioned with somebody like Eric Dickerson, that's unbelievable."
Oh, and that combination of 200-plus rushing yards paired with four rushing touchdowns holds a special place in NFL playoff history too, as Niners Wire points out.
Mostert was asked after the game if he can ever recall rushing for 220 yards and four touchdowns in a single game, obviously including high school or college. His answer was pretty humorous.
"The last time was about like, what, 30 minutes ago?" The running back responded.
Mostert added: "I didn't even get it in high school like that. I was a receiver coming out. And I made that transition to running back my junior year of college. After that, honestly, maybe against Illinois 2014, had 100 like 15 rushes on like six carries, something like that, two touchdowns. That was probably like my biggest game."
