The San Francisco 49ers are favored by a touchdown in Saturday's Divisional Round playoff game against the Minnesota Vikings. If they somehow manage to find a way to lose, it won't be because of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, says Kyle Brandt of Good Morning Football.

"We've been waiting for months for Jimmy Garoppolo to meltdown and fall on his face," Brandt said on Thursday morning. "In the meantime, all Jimmy has done is beat Russ, beat Rodgers, beat Drew. He's taken out the one-namers. I don't know if Jimmy's going to drop the ball here. I believe in him."


The NFL Network host isn't concerned about the signal-caller's lack of starting playoff experience.

"The Vikings are no joke," Brandt added. "Jimmy Garoppolo, 100-plus (passer) rating, no turnovers, a clean game for a clean look."

Garoppolo finished the regular season having completed 69.1 percent of his passes for 3,978 yards with 27 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

One 49ers teammate who isn't concerned about Garoppolo's lack of starting playoff experience is tight end George Kittle.

"I'm not really worried," Kittle told reporters on Wednesday. "Jimmy has been doing it all year. Every primetime game he shows up, plays well. He's just going to do him and play really well. I just have that expectation of him. I have all the confidence in the world in him."


Cornerback Richard Sherman questioned why everyone is so focused on Garoppolo not having played a playoff game before.

"I don't think it's going to be any different," Sherman told reporters. "Field is the same size. Ball is the same size. He'll be fine."
