Last month, San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle was named to his second Pro Bowl. On Friday, the 49ers' best offensive player received what many consider to be an even greater honor.

Kittle was voted first-team All-Pro, according to a report from Matt Barrows of The Athletic. Last year, he earned All-Pro status, but on the second-team.


"It is an honor to be voted on there," Kittle told reporters after Friday's practice, "It definitely means I have a lot of respect around the league, which is incredible. All I try to do is go out there every single Sunday and put good football on tape for people to see. I'm just honored to be voted that. I'm excited to play more football, though."

The other 49ers to be honored are cornerback Richard Sherman and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner. Sherman has been named an All-Pro four times before, with three coming with the first-team. This year's inclusion means more money in his pocket.

Sherman received a $1 million bonus after being named to the Pro Bowl last month and earns another $2 million making the All-Pro team. All of that comes on a contract that he negotiated himself, which means he doesn't owe a portion of the earnings to an agent.

This is Buckner's first time being named an All-Pro.


The 49ers made Kittle a fifth-round selection out of Iowa in 2017. He registered 85 receptions for 1,053 yards with five touchdowns through 14 starts this season, becoming the fifth player and first tight end in franchise history to record multiple 1,000-yard-receiving seasons.


Sherman registered 61 combined tackles, 11 passes defensed, three interceptions, and a touchdown through 15 starts with the 49ers this season, his second with the team.

San Francisco made Buckner the No. 7 overall selection in 2016. He registered 62 combined tackles, 7.5 sacks, two passes defensed, and two forced fumbles through 16 starts this season.

The other 49ers players to receive votes but not make the team were linebacker Fred Warner, defensive end Nick Bosa, defensive back K'Waun Williams, and special-teams contributor Raheem Mostert.
