The 49ers returned to practice after having Wednesday off for Christmas. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel (shoulder) and safety Jaquiski Tartt (ribs) remain in blue no-contact jerseys.
While Samuel is expected to be ready to play on Sunday, defensive coordinator Robert Saleh told reporters after practice that the coaches are just waiting on the 49ers performance staff to clear Tartt to return to his starting role.
One teammate who can't wait to get Tartt back on the field is cornerback Richard Sherman.
"Tartt's really a smart player," Sherman told reporters on Thursday. "He's smarter than he gets credit for. He plays instinctually, he plays really fast, he trusts what he sees, and he's way more experienced than you would think. He recognizes plays fast. He doesn't get beat on the same play twice. And those are attributes of a really good player, being able to adapt throughout the game, and see the looks, and see the adjustments, and still be able to play fast and execute. And that's what makes him really effective."
Defensive end Dee Ford continues to miss practice and is not expected to play on Sunday night. San Francisco hopes to have him available for the team's first playoff game.
Defensive lineman Jullian Taylor has been dealing with a ligament issue in his elbow and practiced on Tuesday with a brace. A "knee" issue appeared on Thursday's injury report.
Below are Thursday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Seahawks, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
