After dealing with two losing seasons since head coach Kyle Shanahan took the reins, running back Raheem Mostert knows there is something special about this team. Its 12-3 record shows that, and next week, it will have to prove it again by beating the Seattle Seahawks for the NFC West crown.
"This is a very special team," Mostert said on NBC Sports Bay Area after the 34-31 win over the Los Angeles Rams. "These past two years has been a downfall for us. Just having 4-12 and then 6-10, it's like, man, when are we going to get these wins? This year, these guys are just honing in on their craft and wanting to make those big plays.
"And Jimmy (Garoppolo), we've got every faith in Jimmy because that's our quarterback. He's going to put it where he needs it. He's going to make the right calls, and Kyle's going to do the right play-calling and stuff like that. And we've just got to go out there and execute. That's one thing that's been different for us, is the execution part."
