TE George Kittle (knee, ankle) missed his second-straight practice of the week as he recovers from injuries suffered during Week 9. There was some confusion on Wednesday whether or not Kittle would play on Sunday, and the possibility doesn't look good right now, but San Francisco has one more practice scheduled for Friday at 12:05 p.m. PT.
"We're never going to decide on Kittle too early in the week," Shanahan said on Tuesday. "He's always got a chance with some of the stuff he's been able to go through here in these last couple of years."
WR Emmanuel Sanders (ribs), injured on Monday night, did not practice but took part in the team's walkthrough. He is considered day-to-day.
The 49ers were down two running backs on Wednesday. Matt Breida aggravated his ankle against the Seattle Seahawks. The other was Tevin Coleman, who was excused for personal reasons.
LT Joe Staley (finger) and DT D.J. Jones (groin) have already been ruled out for Sunday's game.
Below are Thursday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Cardinals, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
