The Seahawks won the game 27-24 in the final seconds of overtime in front of a record Levi's Stadium crowd.
For the 49ers players, they will have to shift focus and move on to the next opponent. The team is no longer undefeated after 10 weeks of NFL play, and now sits at 8-1.
Linebacker Fred Warner was asked after the game about the mood of the team after such a hard-fought defeat.
"It sucks," Warner responded. "Everybody's pretty disappointed but, at the same time, this loss is not going to define us. We have an extremely tight-knit group.
"We could take this two ways, but I think as long as we learn from this, keep moving forward — we've got a big game against Arizona coming up, so preparation starts as soon as we get home; make sure we're recovered."
Cornerback Richard Sherman called the loss a "learning experience" and, for the second post-game presser in a row, felt the defense didn't play up to its standards.
"Guys battled," Sherman said. "We had a chance to win it. But we've got to play better on both sides of the ball, all three phases, we've got to play better football. On defense, we've got to give ourselves a chance and get those stops."
Warner was asked about his teammate, linebacker Dre Greenlaw, whose workload increased due to the season-ending injury to Kwon Alexander.
"Dre did outstanding," Warner said. "I thought he had a great game. He was out there communicating, lining up with urgency, making plays. That play where he intercepted the ball was just insane. I'm thinking I was going to have a chance at it because [Russell Wilson] kind of just lobbed it up. But just the execution of that play, and what we were running, I honestly couldn't believe it; it was so surreal.
"He's a great player, very instinctive, and it showed tonight for sure."
