This week's practices aren't as demanding as most because of the Thursday night game. The team did not practice on Monday, held a late 5:20 p.m. walkthrough on Tuesday, and will have its typical day-before-the-game walkthrough on Wednesday.
Tuesday's practice/walkthrough took place on the Levi's Stadium field for the reasons that Chris Biderman of the Sacramento Bee laid out in the following tweet.
Several players didn't practice on Tuesday, including running backs Matt Breida and Raheem Mostert. Fullback Kyle Juszczyk and right tackle Mike McGlinchey were injured during Week 5 and aren't expected to return until Week 10 against the Seattle Seahawks. The 49ers hope to have cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon, injured during Week 3, back for that game, too.
Also expected back for the Seattle game is starting left tackle Joe Staley, who suffered a fractured fibula during Week 2. Although, head coach Kyle Shanahan did say on Tuesday that there remains "a chance" the offensive lineman would play on Thursday night but he didn't sound too optimistic about that.
"Without us having a full-speed practice, it's going to be kind of tough to simulate some stuff here in this day and a half," Shanahan said. "So we'll see how he feels. I put him more in 'doubtful' whenever I have to do that, but there's still a chance."
Below are Tuesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Cardinals, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
