While Ramsey is a very talented player, the initial thoughts by the media are that the deal probably wasn't enough for now 3-3 Los Angeles to catch up to 5-0 San Francisco or even the 5-1 Seattle Seahawks within the division. Most everyone would agree that the move was costly for the Rams, especially when you consider that Ramsey is looking for a contract extension.
Do you remember this statement from Ramsey earlier this year?
Richard Sherman was asked on Thursday to share his thoughts on the trade, and he sounded pretty happy for his fellow cornerback because of how he landed with Los Angeles is going to benefit him in the long run.
"It seemed like they gave up a lot for him," Sherman told reporters, "and it's going to be great for him because he has a lot of leverage, and I wish they would try to not pay him at this point. Give up two first-rounders and like, 'Oh, and we're going to play hardball in these negotiations.'
"Yeah, back up the Brinks truck, and then call him when you're done."
The 49ers next face the Rams during Week 16.
