Maybe we can pretend the report never happened.
Today is the deadline for the NFL to make a schedule change for Sunday Night Football and the very-reliable Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area is hearing the chances are "very, very slim" that the 49ers-Rams matchup at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum will be moved from its currently-scheduled 1:05 p.m. kickoff.
Update: Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports that the 49ers-Rams game will not be flexed to Sunday night and will remain as scheduled.
Maiocco doesn't specify whether it is just the 49ers-Rams game that is unlikely to move kickoff times or if the league is content with keeping the game set between the Pittsburgh Steelers (1-3) and Los Angeles Chargers (2-2). The NFL may decide to showcase another matchup.
The NFL can utilize flexible scheduling starting during Week 5, and only two games can be flexed into the league's marquee game on Sunday night between Weeks 5 and 10. The announcement of a change can come no later than 12 days before the game.
