There is interest in Ramsey, according to reports, but the 49ers just aren't among those interested teams. At least, not at the cost the Jaguars are reportedly demanding.
Jacksonville is said to be looking for at least a first-round pick in exchange for Ramsey. It would most likely cost more. Perhaps a first-round pick and another high selection or a marquee player.
Ramsey requested a trade this week after engaging in a heated argument with coach Doug Marrone on Sunday during the Jaguars' loss to the Tennessee Titans.
"Jacksonville general manager David Caldwell reached out to all 31 other NFL teams to gauge the league-wide interest in acquiring Ramsey in a trade, according to a source," reports Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area.
While Ramsey is under contract through the 2020 season, any team interested in the defender will have to be ready within the next couple of years to make him the highest-paid cornerback in the league. Xavien Howard of the Miami Dolphins and Josh Norman of the Washington Redskins are currently the highest-paid corners in the NFL, averaging about $15 million per season.
