Defensive end Nick Bosa and cornerback Jason Verrett returned this week from ankle injuries suffered during an August 7 practice. Both were limited on Monday and again on Wednesday (players had Tuesday off). Also limited on Wednesday were wide receiver Dante Pettis (groin), center Weston Richburg (knee), and cornerback K'Waun Williams (knee).
Wide receiver Trent Taylor will not play against the Buccaneers. That much is already known. Another receiver, rookie Jalen Hurd, is also unlikely to play as he deals with a back injury.
"Most likely not going to play this week," Shanahan told reporters before practice. "Haven't ruled him out yet but if I had to say something today, he's doubtful."
Tackle Joe Staley had a veteran-day off from practice.
Below are Wednesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Buccaneers, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
