Coleman was carted off the field after having an air cast placed over his leg. The 49ers ruled him out for the remainder of the game with what the team called "an ankle injury." Coleman was replaced by Willie Beavers.
Coleman was competing for the swing tackle role. The 49ers traded a 2019 seventh-round pick to the Cleveland Browns for Coleman on August 31, 2018.
Update: General manager John Lynch later said he has not seen an official report on Coleman's injury but that it didn't look good and the tackle will likely be unavailable for "some time."
