Most players are away from the 49ers facilities in Santa Clara until training camp begins on July 26. Verrett, along with other rehabbing players, is allowed to remain to work with the health and training staff.
"We're putting a plan together with the coaches and the trainers, and I feel the plan is going to be real useful for me," Verrett told reporters on June 12.
Verrett hopes to be ready for training camp and enter the competition to start opposite veteran cornerback Richard Sherman.
"I feel like I'm going to be on track to be ready for training camp and the rest of the season," Verrett said.
Verrett has ended up on injured reserve in each of the past three seasons and four of his five NFL seasons. His last healthy season came in 2015, and it resulted in a Pro Bowl selection. That's what the 49ers hoped they got when the team signed him to a one-year deal on March 14.
H/t to Patrick Tulini (via @OSf49ers) for the find.
