Update: The 49ers announced that the team has waived running back Matthew Dayes to make room on the roster.
The Minnesota Vikings made Beavers a fourth-round selection out of Western Michigan in 2016. He also spent time with the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks. The Bears waived Beavers on May 2. He has appeared in two career games with both coming during his rookie campaign.
The news comes after the 49ers announced the signing of linebacker LaRoy Reynolds to a one-year deal and officially announced the addition of running back Austin Walter, who signed a three-year deal on Saturday.
