Last year's fourth-round draft pick, defensive lineman Kentavius Street, has been fully cleared to practice and will take part in the San Francisco 49ers' three-day rookie minicamp this weekend, according to Matt Barrows of The Athletic. Practices kick off on Friday at 1:00 p.m. PT.


Street, 22, missed all of last season after suffering a torn ACL before the 2018 NFL Draft. The 49ers did not expect him to play last year. Street did, however, get onto the practice field with his teammates in December.


"We just want him to get as healthy as he can be," Shanahan said in December. "We're very excited about him. [...] It's tough to wait a year to have to wait for him to play, but we loved his college tape, and he's been working his tail off to get healthy. I think he'll be definitely in the mix [in 2019]."

Street told The Athletic that he believes he is in the best shape of his life. Organized team activities begin later this month, and Street will join a defensive line that consists of DeForest Buckner, Solomon Thomas, Arik Armstead, and others while the team added two bookend pass rushers in Dee Ford and Nick Bosa. Street expects to be utilized as a rotational player along the interior and outside, depending on the need.

"That's one thing (defensive line) coach Kris (Kocurek) has been telling me this whole time — the more positions I'm able to play, the more versatile I am as a player, the more valuable I'll be," Street told The Athletic.
