This will be Marsh's second stint with the Seahawks. He played for Seattle from 2014 through 2016 before being traded to the New England Patriots on September 2, 2017.
The Patriots waived Marsh on November 21, 2017, and the 49ers claimed him the next day. San Francisco signed Marsh to a two-year extension on February 7, 2018, but decided to part ways with him a year later.
Marsh registered 38 combined tackles and 5.5 sacks through 16 games and three starts with the 49ers in 2018. He recorded 49 combined tackles, 7.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles during his two seasons in San Francisco.
"I loved my time in San Jose and time I spent with my teammates and coaches last season," Marsh wrote via Twitter after learning he was being released by the 49ers. "Sad to part ways but business is business. I promise you I will be better than I ever have been. I also want to make sure I thank the 49er faithful for embracing me and supporting me and my family."
The Seahawks made Marsh a fourth-round selection out of UCLA in 2014. He has recorded 123 combined tackles, 11.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles through his five NFL seasons.
