Each prospect was a four-year starter at his respective school. Wilkerson attended Rice's pro day and was invited to take part in the Houston Texans' local pro day on April 6.
Fox averaged 45.5 yards per punt for the Owls in 2018, per Sports Reference. He also handled some of the kicking duties making all 23 of his extra-point attempts last season.
Wilkerson and Fox will work out together for several NFL teams, reports Chan.
The 49ers signed punter Justin Vogel as a potential replacement for Bradley Pinion, who spent four seasons with the team before signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in March.
San Francisco also re-signed long snapper Kyle Nelson to a four-year deal. However, he will be unavailable to start the season after being suspended in December for 10 games for violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances. He has six games remaining in that suspension.
