Alabama held its pro day on Tuesday and Williams reportedly met with 49ers general manager John Lynch and VP of player personnel Adam Peters before the on-the-field workouts. Williams, like several other top prospects at pro days across the country, did not participate but did use the time to meet with NFL teams. He apparently also had dinner in a very comfortable setting with the 49ers brass.
San Francisco holds six selections in the upcoming draft, including the No. 2 overall pick. With the Arizona Cardinals reportedly leaning toward drafting former Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray with the top overall pick, that will leave the 49ers with their choice of top prospects.
The 49ers will also host Williams for a pre-draft visit in Santa Clara, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. He is scheduled to visit each of the NFL teams which currently hold top-seven picks in next month's draft. NFL teams can host up to 30 official pre-draft visits to their facilities.
