Tight end George Kittle dodges questions about the All-Pro receiver like he dodges defenders on the football field. Wide receiver Marquise Goodwin said this week that he sees himself as the AB of the 49ers.
"I'm always down for help," Goodwin added. "Whatever gets that Lombardi trophy."
Running back Matt Breida joined 95.7 The Game on Friday and, of course, was asked about Brown.
The whole Brown-to-49ers speculation kicked off when Kittle tweeted the Steelers receiver on New Year's Eve. Brown has since distanced himself from his current team and strongly hinted that he wants to play for Shanahan and the 49ers.
Kittle revealed on Friday that it was actually quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo who started the whole thing when he dared the tight end to tweet at Brown.
Damon Bruce asked Breida if anyone is daring him to tweet at anyone.
"Not yet," Breida responded while laughing. "Trying to stay low-key. Trying to stay out of that. Don't get me wrong. I wouldn't mind having AB come play for us at all. But like I said, I'm going to stay out of that, and let the other professionals handle that."
So there you have it. Breida is not ready to throw his hat into the recruiting effort.
You can listen to the entire conversation with Breida below.
