Sherman spoke with reporters on Thursday and shared just how much healthier he is feeling compared to earlier during the season.
"Physically, I feel a ton better (compared to Week 1)," Sherman said. "I outjumped everybody in the vertical during the last testing we just did. I'm pretty proud of that."
He would not reveal precisely how high he jumped or too many further details.
"I was the highest vert of all the skill positions, period," Sherman added.
What were his numbers like headed into the regular season?
"I wasn't up there," Sherman answered. "I wasn't up near the top, honestly. But as the season has progressed, I've gotten stronger. I've gotten better. My body has finally gotten into football shape, and I can move like I want to move. My muscles are accustomed to the grind of the season. That's the thing. Your muscles are tired all the time. I'm still tired from rehab throughout the season."
The 49ers signed Sherman in March to a three-year deal after the veteran cornerback spent seven seasons with the division-rival Seattle Seahawks. He has 35 combined tackles, a sack, and four passes defensed this season.
