Goodwin was excused from the 49ers' last two games as he dealt with a personal matter. He has been away from the team since traveling back to the Bay Area from Tampa, Florida before the team's Week 12 contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Goodwin stopped by last week to speak with coaches and 49ers officials before departing once again.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan informed reporters on Monday that Goodwin has returned to the team.
"Goodwin was here today at the meetings and stuff, so I'm sure he'll address you guys later in the week," Shanahan said. "But I expect to have him back (vs. Denver)."
Shanahan has not wanted to discuss the reasoning behind Goodwin's excused absence, only stating that the receiver has been dealing with something serious.
"I know 'Quise is trying to work his way through some stuff," Shanahan told the media last week. "It's better that he isn't here because he isn't in a great spot and I can totally understand why. We're going to be here for him, and I hope he can get through this, and at his own pace. When he comes back in here, we'll be ready for him, but I'm definitely going to wait for him to mention that and I'm sure he'll be getting closer to doing that."
The 49ers have been without both Goodwin and Pierre Garçon for the past two games. Garçon has been dealing with a knee injury for most of the season and will be re-checked on Wednesday when the team holds its first practice of the week.
Garçon has missed four of the 49ers' last five games.
