The San Francisco 49ers host the Detroit Lions for Week 2, and wide receiver Marquise Goodwin won't be active for the contest, among other injury notables for the Niners.
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Marquise Goodwin (quad) is among the team's inactives for Week 2 as they prepare to host the visiting Detroit Lions at Levi's Stadium.
Goodwin suffered the injury early in the Niners' 24-16 Week 1 loss to the Minnesota Vikings last week. And while he was visually seen trying to warm up to get back into that game, it's clear his injury is carrying over into Week 2. Head coach Kyle Shanahan even indicated earlier this week Goodwin would be out for this contest. In his place, the 49ers will start the rookie, Dante Pettis.
Here's the full list of inactives for Week 2:

- OL Erik Magnuson
- OL Matt Tobin
- OG Joshua Garnett
- DT Jullian Taylor
- OT Shon Coleman
Smith has been frustrated with a hamstring injury since early in the preseason. San Francisco's high-profile 2017 free-agent signing has yet to play a regular-season game with the 49ers. And with linebacker Reuben Foster still on his two-game suspension and Brock Coyle (concussion) on injured reserve, it looks as if Elijah Lee will get the start alongside the rookie, Fred Warner.
The 49ers offensive line is a bit banged up too, although it's interesting not to see right guard Mike Person (foot) on the inactive list after he exited early in Week 1. Earlier in the week, San Francisco promoted undrafted rookie Najee Toran off the practice squad to alleviate the lack of depth on the O-line. Person's return helps with the concerns there.
The Niners and Lions kick off at 4:05 p.m. ET from Levi's Stadium.
