Vikings defensive end Danielle Hunter, who was responsible for one of the sacks of Garoppolo, provided his analysis of the quarterback after the game.
"As the game goes on, you have to bring the pressure on him," he said. "You see that he's starting to get scared."
What did Garoppolo think about the comment?
"I never heard that before but it's the way he thinks, I guess," Garoppolo told reporters on Wednesday. "Pressure is always a good thing in a quarterback's eyes. It opens up windows, they have less guys in coverage. So it's kind of pick your poison, I guess."
Garoppolo was asked about his ability to handle pressure in the pocket.
"There's going to be tight windows, guys coming down on you and everything, but it's a combination of helping the O-line out, them helping you out, getting the ball out on time, all that stuff," he responded. "There's a million things that go into it."
Garoppolo faced a tough early test on Sunday. The Vikings finished last season with the top-ranked defense. The 49ers will try to get into the win column when they host the Detroit Lions on Sunday at Levi's Stadium. What does Garoppolo think about that defensive unit? Detroit's head coach, Matt Patricia, was the New England's defensive coordinator during Garoppolo's time there.
"They're talented," Garoppolo said. "Matty P, they're a game-plan team. Across the board, good D-line, they get penetration, they set the edge, fast linebackers, and a talented secondary. They're good at every level. We'll have to come out with a good mindset."
