The 49ers Communications staff released the team's first "unofficial" depth chart of the regular season this week. Malcolm Smith was listed as the starting WILL linebacker but it is unknown if he will even play against the Vikings. He has been dealing with a hamstring injury since the 49ers' exhibition opener on August 9.
"He'll be limited today so we'll see how that goes," head coach Kyle Shanahan said before practice.
Backup tackle Garry Gilliam is still working his way out of the concussion protocol. He missed the 49ers' final three preseason games.
Below are Wednesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Vikings, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
