The San Francisco 49ers have recently informed the NFL that they are interested in hosting either Super Bowl 59 or 60 at Levi's Stadium, according to team president Al Guido. Those games will be played in 2025 and 2026.

"The NFL sends out to all the teams an if-you're-interested-in-hosting-a-Super-Bowl-type memo," Guido told Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area during the latest 49ers Insider Podcast. "We filled out that we were interested in hosting (Super Bowl) 59 or 60. We certainly believe Vegas will probably be in that rotation somewhere.


"If you think about the next couple of Super Bowls, a lot of the new stadiums sort of get handled (first). So you have [Mercedes-Benz Stadium], you have Miami, which is not new but they had a big renovation, you have the LA stadium that's coming online. I like to believe that Vegas will get one and then we'll see where we fit in the mix.

"It's going to take a lot of political will to get there, to pull this off again, but I feel good about our chances. Right now, we sent a letter of interest in. We also sent a letter of interest in with a lot of our political figures in the Bay Area, both in San Francisco, San Jose, and around."

The Bay Area successfully hosted Super Bowl 50 at Levi's Stadium with events leading up to the game taking place about 40 miles north in San Francisco and the game itself in Santa Clara.

The 49ers initially had interest in Super Bowl 57 or 58, but those games were awarded to Arizona and New Orleans, respectively.
