This year, fans pretty much know who will start at every position except right guard. In case you were wondering, Joshua Garnett is listed as the starter at that position with Jonathan Cooper as his backup. Of course, a knee injury has prevented Garnett from practicing since July 28. Cooper is working his way back from MCL surgery in January.
"That's the one (position where) we've got the most competition at, that's for sure," head coach Kyle Shanahan said on Sunday, "and two of the guys who should be right in that competition aren't practicing fully yet. Obviously, they haven't been in it, but it's given other opportunities to guys like (Erik) Magnuson, guys like (Mike) Person."
Another interesting note is that both Raheem Mostert and Joe Williams are listed together as the No. 3 running back. The two are battling for that third running back spot.
