"They don't have fun there," Marsh told Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle. "There's nothing fun about it. There's nothing happy about it. I didn't enjoy any of my time there, you know what I'm saying? It made me for the first time in my life think about not playing football because I hated it that much."
As expected, Patriots players defended the team last Thursday when asked about the atmosphere and Marsh's comments. For Marsh, he could not wait to get out of New England during his brief stay there and said he confronted Belichick in November.
"And so I, basically, without asking to get cut, I kind of asked to get cut," Marsh said.

The Patriots obliged and waived Marsh on November 21, 2017, which was two days after the team's 33-8 victory against the Oakland Raiders in Mexico City.
On Monday morning, Albert Breer of The MMQB wrote that the Patriots waiving Marsh might not have been just because of a discussion he had with Belichick.
"I'm told he pitched a fit over playing time at halftime of the Patriots-Raiders game in Mexico City (he was in on two snaps that week), which contributed to his release days later," wrote Breer.
Jeff Howe of The Athletic in Boston explained in more detail what Marsh did while he "pitched a fit." He says the former Patriots defensive player threw a Gatorade jug during the halftime locker-room tirade due to his lack of playing time. New England was leading 17-0.
The 49ers gave Marsh an opportunity to prove himself with more playing time than he had in New England and he appears to be happy with his new team. In February, the 49ers rewarded Marsh with a new two-year deal.
"Hopefully, I'll be a Niner forever," Marsh told Branch.
