Al and Zain also speak to special guest Dane Brugler, the senior analyst from NFLDraftScout.com. Dane shares his thoughts on the 49ers' new rookie class, including the surprise first-round selection of tackle Mike McGlinchey.
The 49ers did not draft a pass rusher as many expected them to do.
"It's something that, obviously, they didn't see the value of a pass rusher in the top 10 if it wasn't Bradley Chubb," Brugler said.
Even after the first round, the 49ers passed on selecting an available pass rusher during each of their picks in subsequent rounds.
"I think that was probably the most surprising development of the 49ers' draft is that they did not come away with a pass rusher," Brugler said. "Either a guy in earlier rounds who could step in right away or someone even they could develop later on."
Despite rookie wide receiver Dante Pettis' size, Brugler was complimentary of the selection and discusses whether or not his game translates well to the NFL and Kyle Shanahan's offense. He also loved the third-round selections of linebacker Fred Warner and safety Tarvarius Moore.
You can listen to all of Brugler's thoughts on the 49ers' picks, as well as Al, Zain, and Dylan's analysis, in the episode below.
