"Humboldt State draft prospect Alex Cappa will work out this week for 49ers offensive line coach John Benton in Arizona, he told NBC Sports Bay Area," writes Maiocco. "Cappa has visited the Raiders, Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota and the New York Jets during the pre-draft process."
Cappa was named a first-team All-GNAC in each of his four years with the Lumberjacks. He also earned first-team Division II All-American honors as a senior.
Cappa is seen as a potential guard at the NFL level despite playing at left tackle throughout his collegiate career.
"He lined up at every line position except center during the week at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama," added Maiocco.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, the 6-foot-7 and 305-pound Cappa had a 40-time of 5.39 seconds, a vertical jump of 26.5 inches, a broad jump of 97 inches, completed the three-cone drill in 84 seconds, had 24 reps in the bench press, and a 20-yard shuttle time of 4.84 seconds.
NFL.com projects Cappa to be a fourth- or fifth-round draft pick.
Lance Zierlein of NFL.com, who compares Cappa to Orlando Franklin, wrote the following within his scouting report:
"Cappa has the size, toughness and movement skills to push his way up the draft board with a strong week of Senior Bowl practices. Conversely, a poor week of practice could bury his stock as his level of competition hasn't offered up challenges on tape to fall back on for scouts who like him. Cappa is a better run blocker than pass protector at this stage. Because of that, he could be targeted for a move to guard even though swing tackle is a reasonable fit for him as well."
Tony Pauline of Draft Analyst wrote the following within his scouting report:
"Cappa dominated at the small-school level and got into a groove at the Senior Bowl after a rocky start. He offers size and growth potential and has the tools to develop into a solid right tackle at the next level."
