While NFL teams are permitted to host up to 30 players for visits at each club's headquarters, those players are not allowed to work out for the team unless they are local prospects. Teams are allowed to host an unlimited number of local prospects, who do not count against the 30-player limit.
Local pro day attendees will have an opportunity to work out for the 49ers coaching staff, front office, and scouts. It will feature athletes from college programs in the area including Stanford, Cal, San Jose State, and others. Draft prospects from the Bay Area who played for college teams elsewhere are also eligible to take part. The 49ers will release a list of the scheduled participants on Wednesday morning.
The 49ers also announced a pre-draft media session, which will take place on Monday, April 23.
"Select 49ers veteran players will also be made available following the completion of the pre-draft media availability," wrote 49ers Vice President of Communications, Bob Lange.
