He finished his senior season in 2017 with 42 combined tackles, nine tackles for a loss, 2.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries, and one interception in 10 games. Anderson's best statistical season came as a junior in 2016 when he registered 56 combined tackles, 14.5 for a loss, 9.5 sacks, five passes defensed, and two blocked kicks on field goal attempts.

Lance Zierlein of NFL Media had the following to say in his scouting report:
"Powerful interior defender with who uses heavy, strong hands and adequate athletic ability to consistently disrupt offensive gameplans. Anderson plays an aggressive, pressing style that often creates early advantages and gives him the ability to recover when he's beaten early in the play. While he faces a step up in competition and may need to add more mass, he has enough talent to become a backup who may be able to handle nose and/or three-technique details."
