According to a report from USO Sports, the 49ers will work out California cornerback Marloshawn Franklin.
Franklin transferred from Mesa Community College after the 2015 season and played two years for the Golden Bears. He registered 60 tackles, two for a loss, a sack, and nine passes defensed in 22 games with 14 starts, according to the Cal football website.
Franklin started all 12 games as a junior for Cal while recording career highs of 46 combined tackles, two for a loss, a sack, and a team-high seven passes defensed. That season, he had a career-high nine tackles and a sack in a game against Texas. As a senior, Frankin appeared in 10 games with two starts while registering 14 combined tackles and two passes defensed.
