The positions of cornerback, edge rusher, running back, and the interior of the offensive line were among team needs heading into the offseason. While the 49ers may still have some needs at those positions, the team addressed each of them in free agency with the additions of players like Richard Sherman, Jeremiah Attaochu, Jerick McKinnon, Weston Richburg, and most recently, Jonathan Cooper.
Lynch joined John Clayton on 710 ESPN in Seattle on Wednesday and said the 49ers' focus is now on studying the NFL's incoming rookie class. How much more active can fans expect the 49ers to be in signing free agents?
"I think it's closing down," Lynch said. "We signed Jonathan Cooper just yesterday to help our interior offensive line. He was with the Cowboys last year, and we feel like he can really compete for one of those starting guard spots and give us some depth, at the least, there.
"Are we done? Perhaps. Are we focused on the draft now? Absolutely. There's so much work that goes into that. We're constantly watching and learning more about the guys out there. This thing never ends. That's one thing I've learned in year one."
The 49ers hold the ninth-overall selection in the draft and have nine total picks through seven rounds, including four in the first three rounds.
