MVP Nick Foles leads the Eagles to a Super Bowl win over the Patriots
That's probably not the type of headline you expected to read following Sunday's Super Bowl LII matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots. Backup quarterback Nick Foles beat future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady and spared football fans an entire offseason of nonstop Patriots talk.
With the incredible game still fresh on everyone's minds, Las Vegas oddsmakers are already looking forward – all the way to next year's championship game.
Super Bowl LIII will be played on February 3, 2019, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Starting quarterback Carson Wentz will be back for the Eagles, and they still aren't the favorites to win it all next year. That distinction goes to the team they just beat – the Patriots.
At this point last year, New England was the favorite to win Super Bowl LII at +500. Their odds for next year are even better at +450, according to Sunday night's line from the Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas. The Super Bowl champion Eagles are at +600.
What are the San Francisco 49ers' odds? They are in 16th place with odds at +3000. That doesn't sound too great until you consider the fact that at this point last year, Philadelphia's odds of winning Super Bowl LII were at +4000. So, you never know what could happen.
Some oddsmakers even have the 49ers slightly higher. BetDSI.eu Sportsbook has San Francisco at +2500.
