Terrell Owens is a passionate individual. He also isn't quick to forget about those that have done him wrong. One recent example is Owens being asked by a TMZ cameraman which team he would enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame with should he earn a spot in the Class of 2018.

"Well, it won't be the Niners," he responded.


The question was pointless because athletes don't actually have to choose a team upon entering the Hall of Fame.

On Saturday, on his third year of eligibility, Owens' name was among those chosen to be part of the Class of 2018. The receiver made the announcement himself via social media.

Shortly after the announcement, Jason Whitlock, who is a TV personality and former ESPN writer, offered his congratulations. Whitlock has argued on multiple occasions that Owens does not belong in the Hall of Fame.


Owens' response was very ... Terrell Owens.


No matter what you might think of Owens personally, it's hard to argue that his numbers don't make him Canton-worthy. The six-time Pro Bowler and five-time first-team All-Pro registered 1,078 career receptions for 15,934 yards and 153 touchdowns. Owens ranks eighth all-time in receptions, is second only to Jerry Rice in all-time receiving yards, and ranks third in all-time receiving touchdowns.


Another person that offered Owens' congratulations was 49ers CEO Jed York.

"Terrell Owens gave our organization eight great seasons of service and some terrific memories that will live on in 49ers lore," York said via a statement released to the media. "He is one of the most accomplished wide receivers in the history of the NFL, and very deserving of this selection to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The 49ers organization would like to congratulate him for this great honor."
