The 49ers overall looked sharp the first half; they got a field goal on the ensuing drive and would score another touchdown off a pick-six by 49ers cornerback Donate Johnson.
Overall, the 49ers looked like the more poised team early on when you consider the Jaguars are the ones contending for the postseason. The Jaguars defense still remains intact; the Jaguars blocked an extra point and returned it for two points while Jaguars safety Barry Church intercepted Jimmy Garoppolo in the red zone in the final minutes of the first half.
At halftime, Garoppolo is 13-for-19 for 187 passing yards and one interception with Matt Breida leading the rushing department with four carries for 26 yards. 49ers fullback Kyle Juszyk is the leading receiver with four catches for 69 yards while Dontae Johson highlights the defense with three tackles and one pick-six interception. The Jaguars responded late with a touchdown by Jaelen Strong off a deflected pass to tie the game at 16-16.
Despite the score, the 49ers are leading in total offensive yards 232-188 but have six penalties for 58 yards at halftime.
