Dumervil is now tied for 31st on the all-time sack list with Hall of Fame linebacker Andre Tippett and just half a sack behind Hall of Famer Charles Haley.
Update: Soon after sack number 100, Dumervil got sack number 101 by bringing Palmer down again.
Dumervil, a five-time Pro Bowl player, spent the first seven years of his career with the Denver Broncos, the team that drafted the linebacker in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft. He then spent the four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens before signing with the 49ers.
Dumervil, who has two 17-sack seasons over his 12-year career, last got to the quarterback during the final game of the 2016 season when he brought down Andy Dalton of the Cincinnati Bengals.
In a featured article for ESPN, Pro Football Focus listed Dumervil as a "secret weapon" for the 49ers against the Cardinals. The site had the following to say about the 49ers' edge defender:
"Dumervil is the very definition of a situational player at this stage of his career. Forty-one of his 48 snaps this season have been pass rushes. This has been his specialty throughout his career, and 2017 has been no different. His eight total pressures rank fifth among the league's 4-3 defensive ends in pass-rush productivity."
