Boulware signed with the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent following the draft. He was released by Carolina on September 2. Boulware saw limited action and had just one tackle during the preseason, which took place during the Panther's final exhibition game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In 2016, Boulware was named the Jack Lambert Award winner. The second-year starter for Clemson led the defense last season with 131 tackles in 14 starts while recording 11.5 tackles for loss and four sacks. Over his college career, Boulware had 352 tackles, 26 for a loss, 8.5 sacks, five interceptions, 41 quarterback pressures, 10 passes defensed, six forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries over 53 games and 31 starts.
Boulware ended his collegiate career as the defensive MVP for the Tigers in the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship.
