Jackson (6-4, 296 lbs) was the third overall selection out of LSU by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2009 NFL Draft. He has appeared in at least 12 games in each of his eight NFL seasons and has appeared in at least 15 in all but one. Over his career, Jackson has 267 tackles, nine sacks, and 14 passes defensed. Each of those nine sacks came in Kansas City before he signed a five-year, $25 million deal with Atlanta in March of 2014.
If the 49ers were to sign Jackson, it would give the team four former first-round draft picks along their revamped defensive line. Jackson would likely just be a depth signing. He had a career-low 13 tackles in 16 games last year while starting seven games.
