In honor of his lengthy and successful radio career, Seaweed got a special visit from 49ers director of broadcast partnerships Bob Sargent, who presented Steven with a custom team jersey.
Seaweed debuted on a Carmel, California radio station on New Year's Eve in 1972 and has spent the past 20 years with KSAN-FM (107.7 The Bone).
"They want to keep me around," Seaweed told the San Francisco Chronicle. "I'm getting great ratings. It's totally my decision. It's just a good time. I've been doing it for 44 years. Besides, my Pops said, 'Just think about going out on top.' That's great advice. And I am going out on top."
Seaweed, a cancer survivor, works with fellow survivor Bob Hammer on the Have a Ball Foundation, which has raised nearly $3 million for cancer charities.
