Foster has insisted that he is fully healed. "It's 90-percent," he told the media on Thursday following his selection. "I'll be ready for training camp."
Shanahan said that the team's doctors and trainers felt good about the recovery process and where Foster is right now. Foster agrees with the assessment.
"I'm making big progress," Foster said on Friday at the introductory press conference for Solomon Thomas and himself. "I'll be limited at OTAs. Training camp, I'll be full-go but if it's my decision, I think I can go now."
There had been reports that the injury would require a second surgery which might put his availability for at least part of the regular season into question. "That's not accurate at all," Foster said. "I'm fine. I'm on schedule."
