With Lynch are vice president of player personnel Adam Peters and senior personnel executive Martin Mayhew. The two have traveled with Lynch to multiple school pro days.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pound quarterback had 11,252 passing yards and 93 touchdowns over his college career. He added 845 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns on 308 attempts. Mahomes took over for another quarterback entering the draft, Davis Webb. An injury to Webb thrust Mahomes into the starting role. Webb later transferred to the University of California and played the 2016 season as its starter.
During his junior season in 2016, Mahomes led the country in multiple categories, including yards per game (421), passing yards (5,052), total touchdowns (53), and total offense (5,312). He was the winner of the Sammy Baugh Trophy which is awarded annually to the nation's top quarterback.
In his final year with the Red Raiders, Mahomes threw 41 touchdowns compared to 10 interceptions. That was an improvement compared to the 36 touchdowns and 15 interceptions that he threw the year before.
Lynch has already been present at the pro days of North Carolina, where he watched quarterback Mitch Trubisky, and Notre Dame, where he watched quarterback DeShone Kizer. He also took part in a semi-private workout with one other NFL team and Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson.
